About SignalWorks

You already know something's wrong. You just can't prove it yet.

You walk the unit. You see the delays. You hear the complaints. Staff are frustrated, patients are pressing the call light twice before anyone responds, and your escalation rate is climbing — but when leadership asks for data, all you have is a raw export nobody has time to read.

SignalWorks was built specifically for that moment — the one where you know the answer but can't surface it fast enough to act on it.

?

Which shift is consistently slowest to respond?

?

Which rooms are generating the most escalations?

?

Are staff actually receiving alerts — or are calls silently failing?

?

What changed between last week and this week?

Your call log answers all of these. SignalWorks reads it for you.

The Insider Who Became the Patient

Our founder spent over 20 years managing enterprise nurse call infrastructure — Rauland Responder Enterprise, R5, and RTLS platforms across major regional health systems. Installs, configurations, cloud migrations, incident investigations. If it touched a nurse call system, he owned it.

He knew the data was there. He knew what it contained. And he watched, year after year, as it went unread — pulled from the console only when someone needed to reconstruct a timeline after something had already gone wrong.

Then last fall, he was hospitalized multiple times.

He felt every unanswered call. Every delay. Every moment of uncertainty about whether anyone was coming. He wasn't analyzing the system anymore. He was living inside it as a patient — and feeling exactly what the data had always been trying to say.

That's when SignalWorks stopped being an idea and became something that had to exist.

The Gap

Why Existing Tools Weren't Enough

📊

The data was never the problem

Every Rauland, Hillrom, and Ascom system already logs everything — every call, every escalation, every cancellation, every response time.

🔍

Access was the problem

Getting meaningful insight required deep vendor knowledge, custom reporting, and time that charge nurses and managers simply don't have.

📰

Nobody built the briefing

The tools that existed were built for system administrators and incident investigators — not for the people running units every single day.

The Mission

Make nurse call data work for the people closest to the patient.

Every week, your call log is trying to tell you where the delays are, which shifts have gaps, which escalations aren't firing, and which patients are pressing the call light and giving up before anyone answers.

We listen to it so you don't have to interpret raw exports before your team arrives.

No vendor relationship to protect. No hardware to sell. Just the intelligence that should have been standard from the beginning.

Deep Integration Experience

Built by people who have worked with Rauland Responder Enterprise, Hillrom, Midmark RTLS, Mobile Heartbeat, and Epic interface engines — in production, at scale, under clinical pressure.

Alert Standardization Review

Included

Before scoring begins, we audit every alert type — identifying redundant, misconfigured, or unused call types that create noise and mask real performance.

🤝

Healthcare IT Leadership

Experience spanning clinical, IT, security, and operations teams — aligning stakeholders and translating technical requirements into clinical outcomes.

📋

Governance & Compliance

Hands-on ownership of data retention policies, clinical user training programs, compliance management, and knowledge base authoring across enterprise nurse call platforms.

HIPAA-Eligible by Design

Azure BAA Covered

Azure infrastructure is covered under Microsoft's BAA. We do not accept files containing patient information — exports with patient names, MRNs, DOB, or census data are automatically rejected at intake. Only room, timestamp, call type, and duration flow into the scoring pipeline. No patient-identifiable data is ever stored or processed by SignalWorks.

Technology Stack
🗄️
Azure SQL

All scoring data, survey responses, org registry, ingest audit log, and performance history — structured, queryable, and reliable.

☁️
Azure Blob Storage

Incoming call log files land here and trigger the ingest pipeline automatically. No manual uploads, no polling.

🧠
PULSE Engine

Normalizes vendor exports into a standard schema and computes five weighted SCIO subscores on every ingest.

Architecture Philosophy

SignalWorks is built on Azure SQL and Azure Blob Storage — no unnecessary complexity, no exotic infrastructure to maintain. Call log files arrive via email, land in Blob Storage, and the PULSE Engine processes them immediately. The result is a platform that's fast, auditable, and built to scale without adding operational overhead.

SignalWorks is currently accepting a limited number of hospitals into our founding diagnostic program.

One week of call log data. One free SCIO score and SignalBrief. No commitment.
